Yesterday, when i was walking inside the India Habitat Center, i was totally amazed with the work did by the world renown photographers from Austria, Italy, China etc and specially Raghu Rai’s work. Its beautiful concept, amazing composition, wonderful color combination literally took me to the another world of photography. As a novice I really have to learn a lot from him. The biennial Delhi Photo Festival 2011 is an initiative of the India Habitat Centre & Nazar Foundation to bring photography, the real democratic art form, into the public space, thereby creating awareness of photographic arts and initiating dialogue amongst its many practitioners and lovers.

Profile of Rahu Rai
A qualified civil engineer, Raghu Rai turned to photography at the age of 23. Working with The Statesman newspaper, Sunday magazine an India Today from 1966 to 1991 & being associated with Magnum Photos (to which he was niminated by Henri Cartier Bresson in 1971) Rai’s work continues to have a deep impact on photography both in India and internationally. He was published more than 20 books and his work has been shown all around the world. He was awarded the “Padmashree” in 1971, “Photographer of the Year” in the US in 1992 and recently the “Officier des Arts et des Lettres”.
